David Magán at Galería Canalejas

As part of the artistic activation program developed by ThePartners for Galería Canalejas, Madrid’s premier luxury destination, the temporary installation Bosque de Esculturas (“Sculpture Forest”) by artist David Magán was presented during Madrid Art Week 2025. This turnkey project by ThePartners encompassed every stage—from curatorial consulting to onsite production—ensuring the work engaged in meaningful dialogue with both the space’s identity and its visitors.

The installation, composed of seven medium-scale transparent totems, reflects Magán’s recurring exploration of color, light, modularity, and verticality. Sequentially arranged across two different locations, they invite the viewer into a visual journey where perception shifts according to position and the play of light. The transparency of the material and the overlapping colors create an optical interplay that transforms the Galería Canalejas environment.

David Magán (Madrid, 1979) has an internationally recognized career spanning over two decades. His work has been exhibited in museums and art centers such as CEART, CAB Burgos, the Museum of Modern Art of Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), Museum Ritter (Germany), and the Museo del Vetro (Murano, Italy), as well as in institutions in France, Norway, Egypt, and Japan. He has participated in art fairs including ARCOmadrid, Art Cologne, Art Brussels, ARTBO, and Zona MACO, and his pieces are part of prestigious public and private collections in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
