Alejandro Monge

Alejandro Monge (Zaragoza, 1988) is a sculptor by training and a self-taught painter. His practice addresses, through a realist and critical language, the imprint left by contemporary society and the symbolic mechanisms that shape value, consumption and accumulation. Working with materials such as cement and tinted resins, he has developed his own technical processes to create compositions that combine formal precision with conceptual intensity. His works translate themes such as obsolescence, memory and economic fragility into structures of strong physical presence. He has held solo exhibitions at institutions including IAACC Pablo Serrano (Zaragoza), Museo Infanta Elena (Tomelloso), Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson (Madrid) and Fundación Vila Casas (Torroella de Montgrí). His work has been presented at international art fairs such as Art Miami, KIAF Seoul, West Bund Art & Design (Shanghai), Art Central Hong Kong, Art Taipei, Art Karlsruhe and Estampa. His work is included in major public and private collections in Spain.
