Norberto Gil

Norberto Gil (Seville, 1975) is a visual artist with a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Seville. Coming from a family of artists, he belongs to a generation that includes figures such as Miki Leal, Rubén Guerrero and Juan del Junco.

Architecture plays a central role in his work, where compositions are constructed through the interplay of light and shadow, using flat, intense and clearly defined fields of colour. His background in graphic design informs a visual language based on formal clarity and compositional precision. He works with acrylic paint, seeking smooth, uniform surfaces without visible brushstrokes, through processes that combine prior digital development with manual execution.

He has held solo exhibitions at institutions such as CAC Málaga, COAS and MAD Antequera, and has participated in art fairs and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Among his awards are the BMW Painting Prize and the Eugenio Hermoso International Painting Prize. His work is included in public and private collections in Spain.
